Day 13 - 40 Day Prayer Pledge
Posted on March 09 2020
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order so that the world might be saved through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God. John 3:16-21
Jesus is not just one more wise teacher among many that history has produced. He is true God and true man, our Savior and Redeemer. Believing in Him and following Him is the only path to everlasting happiness. How firmly do I believe this? How eagerly do I follow Jesus? Read the passage, slowly, maybe out loud; see these words as a glimpse into the mind of God himself, into His divine heart.

A Prayer in Praise of God’s Creation
Thanks be to Thee, my Lord Jesus Christ,
For all the benefits Thou hast given me,
For all the pains and insults which Thou has borne for me.
O most merciful Redeemer, Friend, and Brother,
May I know Thee more clearly,
Love Thee more dearly,
Follow Thee more nearly,
Day by day. Amen
