Day 26 - 40 Day Prayer Pledge

So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.” John 6:53-56
Sometimes we think that going to Mass on Sunday and receiving Holy Communion is an inconvenience. But in fact, it is the most important hour of the entire week. Through the Mass and Communion, we stay plugged into God, the source of supernatural strength, wisdom, and interior peace. Without Mass and Communion, we end up like an old cell phone with a worn out battery, good for nothing. How do I prepare my soul to receive Christ in Holy Communion each week? How could I prepare myself better? Why do you think Jesus chose to remain with us and give us his Sacred Body under the appearance of bread? Reread the passage, slowly; imagine the intensity and love with which Jesus spoke of this deep mystery of the Eucharist.

A Prayer of Adoration for the Eucharist
Jesus, shepherd of the sheep:
You your flock in safety keep,
Living bread, your life supply:
Strengthen us, or else we die,
Fill us with celestial grace.
You, who feed here us below:
Source of all we have or know:
Grant that with your saints above.
Sitting at the feast of love,
We may see you face to face. Amen. Alleluia
