Day 40 - 40 Day Prayer Pledge

DAY 40

Thus says the Lord God: I myself will look after and tend my sheep. As a shepherd tends his flock when he finds himself among his scattered sheep, so will I tend my sheep. Ezekiel 34:11-12

God is committed to us. He is so committed that He sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the price for our sins on the Cross. He cares about us. He is interested in each one of us, like a good shepherd who lays down his life for his sheep. Why is it sometimes so hard for me to believe this with all my heart? If God is like a shepherd and I am like a sheep, what kind of a sheep am I? Am I always causing trouble, wandering away, going where He tells me not to go? What can I do to trust Him more, to follow with greater docility the path He shows me? Reread the verse: thank God for his promise to be our Good Shepherd, and let your heart be strengthened by the knowledge that we are never alone; God is always at our sides.

A Prayer for Victory

Father all-powerful, God of love,
You have raised our Lord Jesus Christ
from death to life,
Resplendent in glory
as King of creation.
Open our hearts
Free all the world
to rejoice in his peace.
To glory in his justice,
To live his love.
Bring all mankind together
in Jesus Christ your Son,
Whose Kingdom is with you
and the Holy Spirit,
One God, for ever and ever.

Alternate Opening Prayer, Mass for the Solemnity of Christ the King
