The String of Beads That Changed Everything: My Rosary Miracles

My mini miracles of the ROSARY…

My rosary is a string of beads that I have prayed with all my life. It takes just 20 minutes of my day to pray, and it is a special gift that my grandmother gave me. Her example of faith through the Rosary helped me realize the miraculous power of prayer... and the mini miracles I have received.

  1. The first time I met Immaculée Ilibagiza, the best-selling author and motivational speaker, I heard her story of being hunted by the opposing tribe during the Rwandan Genocide. She shared that as the troops were coming at her with a machete, she quietly prayed the Rosary, and somehow the troops trying to kill her couldn’t see her anymore; they turned away from her and went in a different direction. She was saved. The rosary created a wall of protection around her.
  2. My husband and I needed guidance on whether we should move homes. We were undecided, and we knew to pray, rely on God, and ask what he wanted for our family. We were at a crossroads, and needed to decide quickly. We sat together with that prayer petition in our hearts, and prayed the Rosary together. He started, and I finished… on each bead we prayed in a rhythm, in union, and with our whole heart. By the end of the Rosary, we knew God was asking us to stay in our hometown. Many years down the road, we realized the gift of being close to my parents and his parents through our kids' young lives. My parents both died in their early 80s, and if we had moved away, my children would not have had the relationship that they did by seeing them literally every day.
  3. My daughter was making a very big life decision; she needed help. Together, we prayed a 54-day novena (a Rosary every day for 54 days, the first 27 days with the prayer petition and the next 27 days in thanksgiving for God’s clear direction and answer). Exactly on day 54, her answer was crystal clear. IT WORKS!!!
  4. When friends are struggling with a diagnosis and praying for miraculous healing, I pray the Rosary. I have witnessed two friends who had less than a year to live, and through daily prayer they are completely healed and in remission. The Rosary links our prayers to the heart of Mother Mary, and our prayers are fuel for our guardian angels so they can do their work on this Earth.
  5. After my mother died, a friend organized a group novena to pray for the repose of her soul.  We prayed together as a community for my mom.  Some were Catholic; others were not; they just came to support my family and me.  My mom’s greatest passion was to bring people to Jesus.  At the end of the 9-day novena, two (yes, 2!) people who gathered to pray every day for 9 days decided to come into the faith. They both became Catholic, and now their husbands and families are Catholic as well. That is the miracle of the Rosary… conversion of heart! Thank you, Jesus, for Your mama, and thank You for this bead of prayer.
