Memorize the Memorare—it is the most powerful prayer to say daily!

Memorize the Memorare—it is the most powerful prayer to say daily!

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

I invite you to pray this powerful prayer over your mother, grandmother, or soon-to-be mother or mother figures!

A few years ago, I had the privilege of meeting Mother Olga of the Sacred Heart, founder and servant mother of the Daughters of Mary of Nazareth. She lived through four wars in the Middle East, and in 1993, as a young lay woman, she started a lay movement called Love Your Neighbor.

Mother Olga shares her calling with us and has truly changed us through her love.

Soon after meeting Mother Olga, she looked me in the eyes and said, "MEMORIZE THE MEMORARE… it is the most powerful prayer to say daily."

As a mom, there are so many moments when I feel inadequate, and I simply cry out to Our Blessed Mother and ask for her intercession because "never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided." As you read this, you may completely relate or ask, "HOW does praying this really help?" I immediately call to mind one specific moment when my heart was breaking; I was dropping my daughter off at college (we live in California, and she decided to go to University in England). The distance was overwhelming, and I just didn't feel like I did enough as a mother to let her go YET. I truly felt like she wasn't ready; there was more I needed to share with her, teach her, and impart upon her. However, as much as I was suffering, she was giddy with joy as she eagerly said "goodbye." On my way back to the hotel, I stopped by a Catholic Church, walked inside, and prayed. I cried out to Mother Mary to be the mother for my daughter that I could not be in this moment. I cried out, "REMEMBER OH MOST VIRGIN MARY," suddenly, as I was staring up at a beautiful statue of Our Lady, I heard in my heart, "I've got her." My heart was at peace as I knew that my daughter would be MOTHERED by Our Blessed Mother. When I was far away, Our Blessed Mother would hold her close. The prayer was my cry, and the peace in my heart was an answer from heaven. This prayer was and is transformative.

I use my 10-medal Blessing Bracelets as a reminder to pray this prayer as my EMERGENCY NOVENA. I pray the Memorare nine times and then thank God for answering my prayers on the 10th bead.

As a business owner, this prayer has become the backbone of My Saint My Hero and our go-to prayer when we need Our Lady to intercede for us.

I share this with you today as a beautiful prayer for your mom and all the important women in your life on Mother's Day.

P.S. Happy Mother's Day Mother Olga
