My Journey to Medjugorje
To visit the village of Medjugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina was on my Bucket List until the beautiful and God-loving owners of My Saint My Hero invited me to go with them this October…WOW!!! I felt ecstatic and couldn’t believe I was being blessed with the opportunity to be part of a pilgrimage trip to Medjugorje. The village has been called “heaven on earth.” However, at first I felt hesitant to say yes as I am still devastated with the loss of my precious son, Robbie (only 21,) in March of this year. I am not mad at God and I have a lot faith, but I am broken hearted. I miss his hugs, his calls and hearing “I love you mommy.” I feel like I am living in a fog. Also, a lot of “What ifs” entered my head: What if my husband does not want to be alone and am I being selfish to leave him; What if he forgets to feed the dog; What if my college son needs me, etc. The devil was trying to talk me out of going, but with much prayer to our Blessed Mother and to Her precious son Jesus, asking God for discernment and with my husband and son’s blessing, I said, “YES.” My love for our Blessed Mother is immense and I know from the bottom of my heart She is with me every day and every where. Also, I believe that in Medjugorje, Her presence and the Glory of God will be felt in an unexplainable way. The owners of My Saint My Hero already knew in their heart, I needed to experience this journey…bless them! In my heart and soul I feel the Blessed Mother is calling me there!
While in Medjugorje we will have the chance to meet some of the visionaries and hear their messages from our Blessed Mother, called Our Lady Queen of Peace in Medjugorje. This is beyond real to me and truly a miracle…Wow! Moreover, we will be staying in the pension owned by the visionary Mirjana and her husband…another WOW!! Eight visionaries have been receiving messages (apparitions) from our Lady since 1981. Our Lady Queen of Peace gave each visionary a “prayer mission” and Mirjana’s prayer mission is to pray for all unbelievers. Our Lady still gives them messages to share with the world. She tells us, “I have come to tell the world that God exists. He is the fullness of life, and to enjoy his fullness and peace, you must return to God.” Another message that I love is, “Dear children, the Holy Spirit, according to the Heavenly Father, made me the mother of Jesus-and by this alone, also your mother. That is why I am coming to hear you, that I may open my Motherly arms to you: to give you my heart and to call you to remain with me, because from the top of the cross my son entrusted you to me.” WOW! My heart beats with joy knowing Mother Mary and God loves me and that He is waiting for me in heaven. My heart beats even faster with joy knowing our Lady has her arms wrapped around my son and that in God’s timing I will be reunited with my precious son in heaven. It is a peace of mind for a parent!
I am excited to meet and have lunch with the faithful and sweet women who weave our beautiful My Saint My Hero Blessing Bracelets. The women of Medjugorje share their prayers and blessings through their weaving. The owners of My Saint My Hero always remind us, “May you feel the love and prayers every time you wear one of their pieces.” I have worn the Soar Blessing Bracelet (woven in Medjugorje) every day since my son went to be with the Lord. It has a silver medal with a wing and is a remembrance bracelet…very beautiful. Every time I look at my Soar bracelet I think of my son and the comforting words written on the card that comes with the bracelet, “May this wing held firm by a woven cord remind you of God’s loving Angels, protecting and guiding you to your true and lasting home in heaven for all eternity. May the hope of reunion be our comfort, for the Lord is faithful: He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart”. Again all I can say is…WOW!! God is good.
I am grateful to have been invited on this Pilgrimage trip and excited to see if and how this journey will change me. I am hoping to come home transformed, renewed and restored by the many blessings I hope to receive. I believe my sweet angel in heaven will be along side of me and praying with me!
Please keep me and all pilgrims in your daily prayers. We are leaving this Friday, October 14, 2016.
