Padre Pio’s Final Desire: A Last Glimpse of Our Lady

In the final days of his life, Padre Pio was confined to his bed, weak and preparing for Heaven. But there was one desire he clung to with hope:

“To see her one last time.”

He was speaking of Our Lady of Fatima, to whom he had a lifelong devotion. When the traveling Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady arrived at San Giovanni Rotondo in 1968, Padre Pio was too ill to greet her in person. So he made a humble request:

“Please, let me at least see her from the window.”

The people carrying the statue paused outside his room and turned her gaze toward him. Lying in bed, with tears in his eyes, Padre Pio lifted his hand in blessing. Just hours later, he peacefully passed into eternity, having seen his beloved Mother once more.

This May - the month of Mary - we’re invited to remember that same healing gaze from Our Blessed Mother upon each of us. And now you can gaze upon her too with the new Our Lady of Fatima Necklace. As you place it around your neck, you’re invited to feel her presence, just as Padre Pio did in his final moments.

May the healing love of Mary wash over you each morning, and carry you through both the struggles and joys of the day as you gaze upon her with love this month of May and throughout your life.

God bless you,
