I Was Filled With Warmth and Grace
I was gifted this beautiful bracelet while shopping in a cute shop near my home. Deborah, the shop owner and I chatted on and off as I browsed the lovely contents of her store. I found 3 beautiful Christmas gifts there and I was thrilled. As I was preparing to pay, Deborah noticed me looking at these gorgeous and meaningful Christmas blessing bracelets she had at her check out counter. Still conversing, I began telling her of my dear son's passing unexpectedly just last March, and that our holiday this year would be very modestly celebrated, and that it would be more of a time of reflection on our son and all he was, and what he meant to us all. I felt very confortable talking to her about him, considering I don't usually bring the subject up with those I do not know. After we talked more (and cried), she asked if I liked the gold or silver bracelet, and I said the silver is nice, and before you knew it, she put it in my bag and said it was her gift to me. Well, I never had a store owner or employee ever do this. I was speechless, I was filled with warmth and grace. Deborah bestowed me with a meaningful special gift that I will cherish always. Not only that, I'm going back this week to buy a few for gifting myself. I will also post this on my Facebook page, which I hope will being her new customers. The meaning of this bracelet is perfect, I love it for that alone. But, as I have not taken it off since yesterday, it reminds me of how nice people can be this time of year, and that a giving spirit is a modest but holy and blessed thing to share. Christmas is a special time of year. And, just like the card that came with the bracelet says, the power of giving helps to transform lives, and truly makes the world a better place.
