Following the Way of Jesus
He summoned the crowd with his disciples and said to them, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it." —Mark 8:34–35
Jesus' message was intended to change our lives with His call to live differently.
It is a LIFESTYLE Gospel, and Jesus shows us the way to live.
Lent is a time to "repent and BELIEVE in the Gospel." Are you ready to believe radically? If we truly believe in the Gospel, we would live differently.
Let's love radically and believe radically this Lent! Let's allow Jesus to change us!
Let's be bold enough to call into question...
How do we love ourselves?
How do we love our neighbor?
How do we love our enemy?
How do we live intentionally?
How do we use our time for God?
How do we practice prayer?
How do we serve?
Jesus teaches us the simple truths of humanity, reconciliation, vulnerability, and non-violence.
He teaches us to be a bridge and to bridge the space between culture and spiritual knowing.
He teaches us to help others, remember God exists in our life, and to remember to grow in union with God through practice, time, patience, devotion, and love.
Jesus is the Son of God. He is God personified and loves us deeply and He is also a process. He is the Way.
His ways are meant to be imitated!
His path is filled with suffering and freedom through that suffering. It is a rhythm of life, a pattern of love, a way to our own transcendence and true transformation. Jesus tells us over and over and over again to follow Him!
Yes, we love Him through worship; however, let's remember, He called us to follow Him, not only worship Him but to live in His image.
Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. —John 14:12
This Lent, join me as we share Holy Habits of Jesus and how the saints lived these habits as inspiration for you and me!
We are all called to holiness.
We are all called to follow Jesus!
