How does God Define a Best Friend?
Throughout the Bible, God describes the attributes of a true friend, reminding us all that we are not meant to walk this journey alone but rather to surround ourselves with true, biblical friends to help us stay on our holy path.
A biblical friend is defined as someone who:
1) remains loyal and helpful during good times and bad, as in Proverbs 17:17
2) speaks the truth even when it hurts, as in Proverbs 27:17 (“Iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens his friend”)
3) demonstrates the kind of love described in 1 Corinthians 13 (“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud… it always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails”), and
4) is willing to lay down one’s life should the need arise (“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”) This final expectation, as set forth in John 15:13, is the ultimate test of loyalty. Together, we celebrate friendship!
Our Best Friends Bracelet Set is a great reminder to pray for one another.
Each bracelet comes on it's own card with the prayer:
To my dear and beloved friend,
Know that I am always here for you and I love you unconditionally.
I hold you in my prayers as I pray.
May the Lord keep you, guide you and protect you always.
May you feel His love and His presence in your moments of Joy, Celebration, Hardship and Strife.
May you never feel alone, and may you rest in His Love when you are weary, in His strength when you are weak and in His Divine perfection when you are lonely and looking for answers.
May you be filled with His Holy Spirit and may our bond of friendship be forever strengthened by His love.
May you always be Blessed.
I pray all of this and more for you my dear friend, AMEN.
