Let's Go Share the Love
Happy Birthday, John Stamos!
I love you MORE…
John has been a dear friend and collaborator with My Saint My Hero.
He has adorned stacks of Blessing Bracelets on his wrist and has given them to others as a loving reminder of how much they are loved. He is the original example of "Wear One. Share One."
The first time we met in person, John wanted to meet with the whole team, knowing we would all be working together. He wanted to start his visit in the My Saint My Hero warehouse, meeting each person, getting to know their names, and asking about their families. This is how he cares for others. He is both personable and kind.
John also asked to meet my family, husband, and kids. He wanted to "break bread" with us over a simple pizza dinner.
We prayed together when he arrived in the morning, we prayed the Angelus at noon with our team, we prayed as a family before dinner, and we prayed as he and Caitlin left to drive back to their home.
When he jumped in his car to leave, the radio automatically turned to the Beatles with the verse, "Mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, let it be." In that moment, he looked at me, pointed at the radio, pointed at his heart, and then gave me a thumbs-up. We immediately began our collaboration.
That is John Stamos.
A man who wants to get to know your heart, your family, and what you love in life. He wants to first connect on a heartfelt personal level and collaborate from that place.
We are honored beyond words to be considered a friend of John's.
That type of friendship means family. Caitlin and John have shared our ups and downs personally and professionally. They have watched as My Saint My Hero have sell out days and months when we have struggled.
They have been by my side through the illness and passing of my sister from ALS and wanted to do everything they could to get her the care she needed. John called me on the day my sister passed and very simply affirmed, "Jesus never left her side… He is with all of us… all the time."
Today is John's birthday, and I am certain he is spending his day doing something anonymously to bring someone else joy. For many years, on his birthday, he would visit the intensive care units of children's hospitals and simply offer cheer and joy to those suffering. John's sincere desire is to use his gifts and talents to bring joy to others.
Not long ago, I called John with a personal request. A friend was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and on her wish list before she died was the opportunity to talk to "John Stamos! Uncle Jessie!" I found this out and called John. I gave him her phone number and told him the story. A few weeks later, I found out he had taken the time to FaceTime with her. When I called him to thank him, he said, "Thank you. I have a new friend, and she is awesome!"
John, Happy Birthday!
We thank God for you in this world and in our lives. Thank you for how much you LOVE. In the words of your beautiful mom, "I LOVE YOU MORE!"
Now let's go SHARE THE LOVE!!!
